Here’s our last round-up of 2013! I contemplated doing a top ten list of our favourite books from past twelve months, but we’ve read and loved so very many wonderful books that it was completely and utterly impossible. Even glancing back over our favourite books from each month would give 36 possibilities and it was hard enough even choosing those!
So, here’s the link to the Pinterest board showing everything we read in December and below are our books of the month.
Me – ‘Hans and Matilda‘ by Yokococo
C – ‘The Jolly Christmas Postman‘ by Janet and Allan Ahlberg
H – ‘Hooray for Bread‘ by Allan Ahlberg, illustrated by Bruce Ingman
Before I go, I’d just like to say a HUGE thank you to all those who’ve read the blog this year, who’ve commented on it and who’ve provided muchos chatting fun on Twitter – you make all of this worthwhile and manage to make me laugh a lot and think a lot, which is just perfect
Thank you, also, to the extremely generous publishers, PR and marketing companies who’ve been kind enough to send us books to review. I know I’m seriously behind with writing about them and can only promise to do my best to do you all justice in 2014.
Finally, thank you to all the awesome authors and illustrators who work so incredibly hard to keep producing such amazing books. My bank manager may take serious issue with it, but you lot continue to ensure that my book obsession is here to stay and I’m forever grateful
Happy New Year and here’s to a brilliantly bookish 2014
